My Daddy Heart

My Dearest Kindred,

I share with you this utterance...

My Daddy Heart

Know that what I say here and what it is you read, is the honest to God's Truth. You see? It can't be any other way. I speak about my off spring, my daughter's, Honey's.

I am a young fellow of fifty two and am a Dad. I am so blessed to have two most extraordinary daughters who are quite the grown ass Women. They're both two Lady's, who I am blessed and so very proud to call my daughters. Both have done their Father and Mother, Right. Both have made their Pa, prouder than a Pa could ever imagine. By God, Baby's, you have so touched your Pa's heart with your knowledge and strength. Dad's World Traveler's, you both are. For sure.

I proclaim, they have done right by their Grand Parents and the grand parents before theirs...

...All of Our Elders. My baby's, have done right by all of their Elders, there is no doubt. My daughters were blessed to see and spend time with their Elders. Where, when they Were able to see, love and smell what an Abuela or Grandma smells like. How it is an Abuela and grandma thinks and Talks Her Teachings, was and has been all so important. Soon they pass this along.

For a Father, a daughter has a scent that is related to the Cycle of Life, the Circle of the Clan. She knows this and we know that. This is the way it was once not too very long ago. And how it is life does pass in cycles. The stories. The traditions. The Food. The Love. I am okay with this. Yes, I am okay with this. Our daughters are Honorable and we Blessed.

Yesterday afternoon, Botswana and I presented my eldest sister, Anna Lou Sue Ethel Beth with a birthday gift of a nicely scented candle in a lovely tin, and her first words after thank you was, geez this smells just like you. This is the way it is and this is the way it has always been.

In a special big brother way, this brings this around full circle. The Scent of Kinfolk.

Enough said.
