I was placed into anaesthesia for an operation I had in Frankfurt, West Germany (as it was known then) back in 1978, (Cold War) over at that old huge American Hospital with a Theater in it. The movie that night after surgery was "Saturday Night Fever". I didn't stay for the entire movie. I explored the old corridors and chambers of this ancient hospital. The U.S. Army sent me there to have an ulcer removed from my throat that was rendering me unable to talk.
Hey! I remember on one trip to Frankfurt, while the doctors were trying odds and ends to assist me with this issue, I had an ENT, (get this now), I had an ENT "hammer" this huge fecking needle into my face. Yes, he did! Yes! I want to curse and cuss and I so do too remember asking my doctor what the fuck was he doing?
I mean, how fecking barbaric was that shit!
(I had not been in Frankfurt twenty four hours from having stepped on German soil for the first time - and I had my first sexual encounter out of the U.S. There at U.S. Army processing center barracks. The One with the fabulous Chow Hall, remember? I was on the second floor looking down onto the street below. It was night and had been raining. It was chilly. As this person approached, glances were made and 'Top Secret" codes exchanged and we ended up in one of our proud Olive Drab Green U.S. Army bus out back). I shit you not.
Oh, and I so did love Frankfurt! What wonderful memories! What a wonderful People's!
And then, I woke up here this morning. Breakfast with my wife. I apparently have two grown daughters. My sister Ana who looks familiar was here earlier and I here I sit in the year 2013.
Wait! What? When? What? Where? What? Why?
Gute Nacht!
